Welcome to your Third Trimester! Have questions? Find your answers here

The Home Stretch – In just another 12 weeks or under, you will have your newborn bundle of joy with you.

The third trimester is the final 3 months of the pregnancy that lasts from Week 29 to Week 40. The baby’s size and position may cause discomfort, making you eagerly await the delivery. The baby weighs around 2.25 pounds as the baby fat has been added. They can now blink, have toenails, fingernails and hair. These final weeks are for the baby to gain weight in the uterus reaching up to 7 pounds at full term.

In the third trimester a woman may experience more aches, pain, and swelling as she carries around her baby. A pregnant woman may also begin to become anxious about her delivery. This trimester sees a lot of baby movement, Braxton-Hicks contractions, swollen body parts and sleeping difficulty.  However, try not to get bogged down. This is the time to look past all this and focus on the baby that is going to be here in no time. This trimester is both physically and emotionally more tough; however, you need to remain positive and focus on the end goal – giving birth!
