Best Baby Bouncers 2021

Every new parent needs some time for their own chores, and getting even a little free time with a new born is next to impossible. This is why bouncers and swings are loved by parents, so their babies can relax and play while they get things done. A swing, as you already know is seat for your child that moves them around – either from side to side or back and forth. The hi-tech ones can be controlled from your phone. A bouncer is relatively lighter and bounces the baby when they move their arms and legs.

Baby bouncers go by multiple names in the market like bouncy seats, bouncy chairs or bouncy swings, depending on their design. These fabric baby chairs are soft and come with a harness buckle to keep your child strapped in safely.

When will You use a Bouncer or Swing?

There will come a time when you need both your hands to do something around the house, you will want to take a shower or cook something. And if you are alone at home you will wonder, where to keep the baby? This is when your bouncer, swing or rocker becomes the go-to solution.

Another type of bouncer that comes with a colorful bar and toys, engages the baby for longer giving you a little extra time your hands.

At what age would your baby need a bouncer or swing?

Bouncers and swings are generally made for babies under 6 months. Post that age, most babies will outgrow their bouncer as this is when they start to become mobile and could possibly roll over while in the bouncer. This is one of the prime reason’s bouncers are placed directly on the floor and not on an elevated surface. Each bouncer comes with an age and weight recommendation that will clarify till when it will be conducive for the baby to use.

Also, please keep in mind that these products are not recommended for a baby to sleep in. It only acts as safe space when used under supervision of the caregiver. Even the American Academy of Pediatrics, does not approve of the bouncer, rocker of swing for safe sleep. ‘The fact that I am able to sit at my computer and write this review alone means this is worth 5 stars. My newborn has not slept without being held since we first brought him home from the hospital. He is currently asleep five minutes after putting him into the 4moms MamaRoo infant seat. I would have paid 5 times this price for him to be able to be soothed. Stop reading this review and buy this if you can afford to, if not mortgage your house, sell your car. It is worth it.’– Sir Booga’s Mummy.

‘So pleased with it. As a first time mom, I wasn’t sure which gears to but for my newborn. So I ordered baby bjorn, fisher price, Graco bouncers and mamaroo. Baby bjorn is my favorite so far. My baby didn’t really like and enjoy it during the first 4 weeks and after she got older and gained more weight, she started enjoying it and would fall asleep faster in it than even on my hand. Very simple and I would never think than it’s worth the money I paid for, but it works even better than other automatic bouncers and swings.’– Amy Bush.

‘I was really impressed. Was nervous about making the final choice to buy noting the positive and negative reviews on this and all swings. Seems many people had good and bad experiences. This is a really good value; it was a little hard to assemble. The clicking noise people spoke about is barely noticeable unless you are fixated on it. The music is adorable and the fact you can plug it in vs just batteries is a huge plus for me. The dial for how fast it goes is 1-10. We use 1 for our newborn grandbaby. Oh, also at the same time I bought one of the head stabilizing pillows for babies that can go in a swing or car seat and put that in there since there isn’t one. That is what you see in the picture. I highly recommend this swing.’– G. Kennett.

‘This jumper is great. I’m on baby number 4 and have owned two other jumpers in the past. This one is quiet! The others are loud when the baby jumps because of rattles and other toys on them. This is so much better and can be used earlier since the harness holds them in and they can’t rock around unassisted like the other jumpers. It’s secure. It looks outdated, especially since the price is about the same as others on the market. That’s the least of my concerns though. The footprint is a little larger, but well worth the extra space it takes up! The only real negative I’ve found is that if you have a dog or other small children, the baby isn’t as protected since it’s completely open around them. The other free-standing jumpers have a barrier around them helping to keep them safer. Even though that can and may be a small issue for us, I’m keeping it! It checks off all the other boxes for me! We are getting away from plastic toys with lights and sounds. This is good old-fashioned fun for baby. Love it! Exactly what I was looking for.’– Elle2947.

‘I like everything about the Exersaucer. My Daughter has big dogs so I wanted to get something sturdy for my Granddaughter to play in when she was at their level. It is sturdy! There has NEVER been a time that the dogs have bumped the Exersaucer and it has tipped. My Granddaughter can now bounce in it (She’s 6 months old). She hasn’t gotten the idea that she can turn around in it though. We turn her so she can play with the other toys. She loves the choices of toys on this one too! I debated and looked at A LOT of these and I’m positive I made the correct decision on my purchase.’– Michele.

‘We have a very squirmy, kicky, active 3-month-old. She’s been kicking nonstop since she was about 2 months old and it’s been very hard to keep her entertained 🙂 she gets bored easily and was tired of her Fisher Price kick gym so we bought the bouncer as the next step. After about 2 days in the jumper, she hasn’t quite mastered the jumping yet but loves to play with the toys and squirms around enough in the jumper to keep it moving and fun. The item says it is for four months old and up but she has been able to hold her head up for a while so we thought we would give it a shot and it is great.’– K.C.

‘This bouncy seat is amazing for the price (especially when it’s $17!). It’s perfect for travel, fits easily in any suitcase. We initially bought it for travel, but I love it even more than our bulky swing / rocker seat we have at home. My baby doesn’t nap super easily, and he napped SO well in this thing. I wish we had discovered it sooner – it could have replaced quite a few(more expensive) baby gadgets. My husband said some reviewers noted that it tips easily… and while it can tip easily while empty, the weight of the baby makes it nearly impossible to tip… so not a worry you should have.’– Natalie Elizabeth
